1. Stay at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa
You really should have expected this one! It is no secret that I believe this is the best place for families on Oahu. Disney just understands the needs of families in a way that no other resort brand has mastered. Your kids will be entertained, fed, & happy leaving you to actually *enjoy* yourself!! Just trust me, this is where you need to be. If you want to read more about WHY, visit this post.
2. Tour the Dole Plantation
Take a half day to visit the Dole Plantation in Oahu's North Shore. You can ride the Pineapple Express train, stroll through the garden, or get lost in the pineapple MAZE! This is a fun & educational opportunity to learn about Hawaii's signature taste, so don't forget to grab some treats before headed back to your resort!
3. Explore the Polynesian Cultural Center
Learn more about the rich heritage of the Pacific Islands in 42 acres of tropical splendor with hands-on experiences perfect for the whole family! You can also catch an authentic luau and dinner in the evening.
4. Experience a Luau
There are several to choice from on the island including one at the Polynesian Cultural Center, I do believe that families with younger kids will appreciate the unique, family-oriented offerings at the Disney Ka Wa'a Luau at Aulani. There will be traditional cuisine as well as more kid-friendly offerings, plus they have pre-show, interactive activities like lei making.
5. Visit Pearl Harbor National Memorial
Arguably the most meaningful experience you can add to your vacation in Oahu- a visit to Pearl Harbor. Explore the museums and pay tribute at the USS Arizona Memorial. I recommend doing this first thing in the morning when it opens if you have younger kids.
6. Sailing Canoe Adventure
A perfect activity for families and guests of all ages looking to participate in an authentic Hawaiian cultural experience without ever having to leave the resort (Aulani & Four Seasons).
